Customer Experiences

First time I bought a guitar without playing it in a shop. I received this beauty this week. It took 8 working days to ship to Belgium which is better than I expected with Brexit. I needed to pay 125euro customs and taxes but Eastwood informed about this before the purchase so no surprise here. So far I'm very pleased. Everthing works fine, playability is good (enough) and it sounds nice. Neck is straight. Setup was ok out of the box. Slightly less than 2mm action on 12th fret high E. Intonation almost perfect. I couldn't get the factory strings properly tuned. After string replacement (.10) there was a big improvement. Frets were a bit rough but after just 5 hours of playing it became much smoother but I think they can still use a light polish. Fret ends are perfect as they are. Full bends in the 17th fret get muted. Some adjustment might be needed here but that can happen with much more expensive guitars as well. I play it through a Peavey Valveking combo and gretch G5222 (champion 600). For the G5222 it is my favorite guitar as it results in a very sweet natural tube overdrive. The coil split makes it very versatile. It can go from warm jazzy clean, full body crunch, cutting through solo's. Some imperfections: while the wood and finish is in general very beautifull there are two stripes starting from the bridge mountain holes. I think it is a run from the printing product. It doesn't really bother me because you only see it when you focus on it. The electronics (knobs, pickup mounts) feel a bit cheap but they are perfectly functional. From these things you know it's not a +2000euro guitar. For the money it is a very decent guitar that I really enjoy.
