Lee Ranaldo
Lee Ranaldo is one of the founder members of seminal New York band Sonic Youth - and he's been trying out the Warren Ellis Tenor 2P in the studio, while working on a new album.
Thanks to albums such as 'Bad Moon Rising', 'Evol', 'Daydream Nation' and 'Dirty', Sonic Youth became one of the most iconic guitar bands of their generation - also helping to pave the way for Nirvana and Grunge in the nineties, and are still a musical reference for anyone interested in noisy guitar music.
As one of the founding members of SY, alongside Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon, Lee Ranaldo helped to popularise then-unloved offset guitars such as Jaguars, Jazzmasters and Mustangs in the early 80's and 90's - besides experimenting with alternate tunings, which, since the beginning of their career, gave Sonic Youth an unique sound.
So, it seems only natural that the musician, singer-songwriter, guitarist, writer, visual artist and record producer eventually decided to try our Warren Ellis Tenor 2P guitar - an offset tenor guitar, perfect for exploring new and different guitar tunings.
There's no doubt that Lee Ranaldo, always a very experimental guitarist (ranked by Rolling Stone magazine as number 33 on its "Greatest Guitarists of All Time" list ) will find much to enjoy in his new tenor guitar!
