Seye Adeleken

Seye Adelekan is the bassist in Damon Albarn's chart busting, globe-trotting project Gorillaz - playing his "NASA" Airline MAP Bass and Eastwood Flying BV bass at gigs worldwide. But he's also a singer, songwriter, and guitarist with lots of experience besides Damon's band.

Still only 29, Seye Adelekan is a seasoned pro with a whole lot of experience under his belt. As far back as 2012, he was already being name-checked as One To Watch by The Guardian newspaper.

At the time, he was promoting his debut solo single 'White Noise' - released after signing with Lana Del Rey's former label. Even before that, Seye had already toured with Lana, Emili Sandé and worked as session guitarist for Paloma Faith. In other words - he already had a respectable CV before joining Gorillaz, where his heavy bass lines help to add an extra texture and beef up their songs.

When you see Gorillaz live, there's no mistake - they're an amazing live band, and Seye's contribution both musically and visually - he hardly ever stands still! - is unquestionable.

In fact, Seye seems incapable of standing still in more than one way: he's also working on a new band called Youth Of The Apocalypse with his Gorillaz bandmate Jeff Wootton

With or without Gorillaz - Seye Adelekan is an artist worth paying attention.
